Several years ago, I wrote to you commending one of your real estate agent's outstanding service and skill. At that time Charlene Bertin had helped to negotiate the purchase of a condo on Pond Mills Road for me during a time of extreme distress while my parents were both in the final days of their lives. They lived in London; I live in Ottawa, so the purchase of any property was complicated by distance, stress and lack of time to devote to such matters. Charlene had so carefully organized our viewing of available properties, and then had coordinated the various negotiations and tasks so well that the purchase was completed in good time and with great satisfaction on my part.
Since that first letter, Charlene has continued to work extremely effectively on my behalf. Over the course of my parents' decline and death during the past year, she has made it possible for me to purchase (and then sell) two more condo's in addition to that first property about which I earlier wrote. In every one of these instances, there has been some unforeseen minor problem, a fact of life in buying and selling property, I have come to understand. And in every case, Charlene has come to the rescue, arranging for workmen to fix appliances, or washing glue off floors herself, or patiently explaining points of confusion to new owners. As a result, I have a whole new appreciation for Charlene's level-headedness, her decency as a person, her conscientiousness in her work and personal relations, and her skill as a real estate agent. As I said in my previous letter, and as I wish now to underline even more emphatically, Charlene is a very valuable member of your company.
